Little Daddy

This episode of Little Rascals was banned and had remained locked up in the video vaults for many years. I always thought that the Little Rascals was cute, who could be evil enough to ban one of their episodes.

Go West Young Manfred

Tom Terrific was an early animated series on American television, presented as part of the Captain Kangaroo children's television show. Created by Gene Deitch under the Terrytoons studio (which was a subsidiary of CBS), Tom Terrific ran in a series of five-minute cartoons created specifically for the Captain Kangaroo show from 1957-1959, and was rerun on Kangaroo for years thereafter. Drawn in a simple, even clumsy, style, it featured a gee-whiz boy hero, Tom Terrific, who lived in a treehouse and could transform himself into anything he wanted thanks to his magic "thinking cap" funnel hat, which also enhanced his intelligence. He had a comic lazybones of a sidekick, Mighty Manfred the Wonder Dog, and an arch-foe named Crabby Appleton, whose motto was "Rotten to the core!" Other foes included Mr. Instant, the Instant Thing King; Captain Kidney Bean; Sweet Tooth Sam, the Candy Bandit; and Isotope Feaney.

Techno Cracked

Flip is a lazy frog who just wants to lounge around in his hammock. But being the great inventor he is, he has it rigged up so that another animal below is running on a treadmill which gently rocks the hammock. When his old-lady employer catches an eyeful of Flip is up to, instead of mowing the lawn as he is supposed to be doing, she gives him the business. Flip is not happy. One thing leads to another and he winds up inventing a robot, a machine that will cut the grass for him. That's where the bulk of the cartoon and the laughs begin. The robot is a real hoot, human-like more than anything else. The ensuing battles between Flip and this robot are very good with clever sight gags involving what the robot mows. Good stuff, with another totally-wacky ending that you'd see in an early '30s cartoon.

A-Bomb Blast Effect (1959)

This is a silent clip of a color military film of an early atom bomb test. Even without the soundtrack, it's pretty interesting, as it is filled with fascinating images and it gives a real feel of what such tests were like to the soldiers who had to endure them.
